Timed to coincide with International Biodiversity Day (May 22), this online event will feature key findings from the Closing Window report and the Debt and Tropical Forests Infographic Series. It will also mark the official launch of the Closing Window report in Simplified Chinese.

Closing Window of Opportunity: Mapping Threats from Oil, Gas, and Mining to Important Areas for Conservation in the Pantropics, highlights the urgent need to protect critical ecosystems from industrial expansion: Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs), Indigenous Territories, and high-integrity forests. While the Debt and Tropical Forests Infographic Series exposes links between sovereign debt levels to the expansion of oil, gas, and mining in the world’s most intact forests, threatening the survival of vital ecosystems.
